Dr. Hussein Hassan is a multi-award-winning Health Science scholar and Humanitarian Specialist with nearly two decades of experience in Disaster Management, Recovery, and Development Program Management. Over the years, he has held senior leadership, managerial, and technical positions with the United Nations, international NGOs, and development partners across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Dr. Hussein has a proven track record of forging strategic partnerships, demonstrating professional leadership, and effectively managing resources to drive impactful humanitarian interventions. His work focuses on alleviating suffering, upholding human dignity, and advocating for vulnerable populations. He is a strong proponent of social justice and accountability to the communities he serves.
His evidence-based disaster management and development programs have saved hundreds of thousands of lives in crisis-affected regions, including but not limited to Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan South Sudan and the Sahel region. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Hussein has received multiple regional and international awards for excellence in humanitarian response, innovative program leadership, and sustainable development initiatives. His work has been widely acknowledged by leading organizations and global partners.
Dr. Hussein has been an active member of the Resolution Project since 2013, initially as a Resolution Fellow and now serving as a Resolution Guide, mentoring young leaders in social impact initiatives.
